Ms. Hammurabi
2018 • 14+
Park Cha O Reum, a passionate newly-appointed judge, dreams of a courtroom where the strong are held accountable and the weak are defended. Alongside her is Im Ba Reun, a super-elite judge who prioritizes equality before the law and believes in predictable principles over hasty goodwill. Together, they team up with the pragmatic Chief Judge Han Se Sang, a man who understands the weight of the world. Unlike stiff Ba Reun, Cha O Reum's charm and playfulness easily win people over, and she acclimates to anyone, whether it be a janitor or a nasty complaint. On the other hand, Ba Reun believes people are fundamentally selfish, which leads to conflict with Cha O Reum who stands up for the weak. At first, they bicker over their differences, but as they battle cases as a team, their disparities help each other grow. Chief Judge Han Se Sang sees the two young judges and rethinks his understanding of the world as cases vividly unfold in the courtroom between the three distinct judges.
